Distribution of Food at Mosque on a Cool Winter Night, 18th-century North Africa, mid-Ramadan 🕌🥗

 

Mosque courtyard glows with serene warmth. Azure-blue sky, studded with sharp, shimmering stars and a full moon, hangs above a pale blue mosque dome softly illuminated from within .. its gentle radiance spilling over walls adorned with traditional arabesque patterns. Arched doors with lanterns,  their golden light flickering in the breeze. Two small campfires crackle, their flames casting dancing shadows. Rural Algerian men sit in small, humble circles upon woven carpets, sharing dishes of food and passing earthen pitchers of water, their quiet conversations rising like a warm murmur in the cold air. Lantern light, firelight, and moonlight intertwine, bathing the entire scene in a tranquil glow befitting a night of community and devotion. Alhumdulilah.
